This mural was painted by the MHS art class at the dawn of the 21st century for display in the school museum.  It is currently displayed in the south stairwell.

The colors of the clouds at the dawning symbolize the school colors of Crimson and Black.  The brilliant sun and the dragon's skin represent the Purple and Gold colors of Dunbar High School.  The Black Cat sits stop the coat-of-arms for the school.  In its shield are represented the school, scholarship, agriculture and oil.  The Dunbar Dragon rises to assume its place with the Black Cat.
